Important Coronavirus (COVID-19) update

Elite Care (Scotland) is proactively managing the risk of COVID-19 through our actions, prioritising the health and safety of our clients and staff at all times, whilst assisting the wider communities we serve as far as possible.

Personal message from Belinda Berkeley, Managing Director for Elite Care (Scotland), on the COVID-19 pandemic

The spread of COVID-19 has reached global pandemic levels. As the situation continues to evolve, I would like to share with you our actions at Elite Care (Scotland), which prioritise the health and safety of our clients and staff at all times, whilst assisting the wider communities we serve as far as possible.

We have detailed business continuity plans across our UK branch network at a national and local level to manage the risk of COVID-19 to our clients and our carers health and safety, whilst maintaining the ongoing safe delivery of care to our clients. We recognise that some of our clients, are extremely vulnerable to the potential threats of infection and are taking particular safety measures to safeguard them. Like all other homecare providers, gaining access to adequate supplies of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) has been a challenge. We are being assisted through our wider UK home care business, our parent company, Sodexo Group and through regular contact with the UKHCA.

We keep a constant review of the latest guidance issued from UK Government, and UKHCA amending our policies and procedures as required to ensure guidelines are followed and the health and safety of our employees and clients are protected. The entire business is now working from home, assisted by our IT team who have developed solutions to enable efficient home working. The head office and branch teams are all keeping daily contact through video conferencing facilities, so whilst we are not together in person, work continues to develop and improve our services.

We have a robust system for reporting and managing incidents of suspected and positive COVID-19 cases including our out of hours service with access to our expert clinical team if required.

The situation is an evolving one and we are committed to responding appropriately and decisively and will do our best to communicate to you any changes to guidance from the government or our working practices.
